Hospice patients and their families depend on volunteers for a variety of tasks. They can assist with office duties or provide companionship for the hospice patient and family. Some volunteers will do your shopping and errands.
Faith Community Hospice Care Volunteers are trained in our philosophy, mission, and their role. We provide education about the concepts of death, dying, grief, and bereavement.
- Direct Care Volunteers make personal visits, phone calls, spend social time with patients, write letters, read to patients, run errands, and provide caregiver relief.
- Bereavement Volunteers make bereavement phone calls, personal visits, and send cards.
- Professional Volunteers can be clergy, massage therapists, music and art therapists, hair stylists, or other caring professionals whose contributions are appreciated.
- Support Volunteers may help with tasks such as office projects, making or wrapping gifts, doing yard work, or simple home repairs.
